Funny how fast it changes. I found the missing files, and yesterday I had a fit of efficiency: I ordered the prints and posted them along with the baby hat, a magnet for my sister-in-law, a birthday card for the kid I sponsor in Sierra Leone, and a letter. It’s windy today, even more than yesterday. In fact my son’s school is going to be shut tomorrow, due to the weather alert. My usual weather site says the wind’s gusting up to 57 km/h, which would be 7 on the Beaufort scale. I’d say those gusts are pretty constant, because every time I go outside, I feel I have to be careful. And theoretically, tomorrow should be worse. Mind…
With all the computer troubles, I forgot to mention that “What’s a Few Tentacles Among Friends?” has been accepted for the anthology Cross Genre Cthulu, which will be published by Permuted Press “probably in late 2008”. Bless them, they’ve already paid me.
They ahven’t still been up on the walls, you understand. I dumped them in the guest room to get them out of the way, pending a sort through, because I know darn well I’ll never sort through them in December. Well this morning I finally did it. I didtched the tatty stuff and mended the nativity scene, and packed it all away neatly. And the novel’s up to 72,023 words.
My upcoming story in Escape Velocity got a mention on Lawrence Dagstine’s site And I’ve been working a little on the novel every day. I should reach 71,000 words tonight. But right now, I have to nag my son to do his homework.
