Polishing the Goat

I got back from Lanzarote last night. I managed to get the suitcase unpacked and the washing machine on yesterday, but my To Do list today was quite long.

• Clean out old food from the fridge
• Buy more food
• Laundry
• Get to a cash point
• Polish the goat
• Phone friend
• Send August invoice for tour guiding

Polish the goat? No, I don’t have a new pet, or a new bronze statue. While I was on holiday I wrote the first draft of a story called “The Goat,” and today I polished it.

But maybe I should write a story about someone who actually does polish a goat.
