Prices on La Palma

Yesterday I went to the local pizzeria with my son. It was €1.10 for a Nestea and €1.60 for a beer (0.3 litre), and the pizzas are between about €7 and €10. This morning I met a friend at a bar in Santa Cruz, and it was just under €10 for a sandwich, two fresh fruit-juices, and a green tea. The local ice-cream (made with milk and eggs – delicious)…

How to Look Ridiculous

1) Sit at your computer a lot, nibbling away until you acquire a serious case of Writer’s Bottom. 2) Go to yoga. It’s traditional to hold the best bit of a fiesta on the night before the public holiday, so you can party half the night without worrying about the alarm clock drilling into your hangover…

OK, you can lock me up now…

After three weeks of being responsible, helping friends (which I was glad to do, don’t get me wrong) and bashing on with the current translation, something snapped yesterday morning. So I went out. I told myself I was getting material for the blog, but to be honest, what’s the point in living on a paradise island, and then spending all day in the house? So I went to Belamaco cave,…
