Sunday photos: more bugs

A tiny fly, perhaps 3m long

I went for a walk near the west side of the tunnel, and I wound up photographing insects again. I have no idea what kind of fly this is, but it’s on a fennel flower and it was only about 3 mm long.

Here’s the head-on view of the same fly.

A tiny fly head on.

The fennel flowers and seeds are popular with pyjama bugs too. I’ve got a lot of shots looking down at them so it’s nice to look this one in the face.

This is a much larger hover fly, also on a fennel flower. (lots of wild fennel on La Palma)

And some sort of fly on convolvulous

I have no idea what kind of fly the last one is.

It’s a good thing I’m happy with the photos, because my writing output is still very poor. I’m still getting fitter, though.
