Late Sardines

Carnival traditionally ends with a funeral for a sardine. Lots of places hold sardine’s funerals and they’re all deliciously silly. Even better, many of them are held well after carnival, on a vatriety of dates, so you can go to several of them without collapsing from exhaustion. Carnival this weekend (Updated)

UPDATE: In Los Sauces on Saturday, they’ll be holding the 60s wedding. The wedding procession with start from Plaza de la Cruz at 6 pm and will wind through the streets. After the wedding itself, there’ll be a public dance with lots of 1960s music. Carnival used to end on Shrove Tuesday, but these days it continues until the following Sunday evening.
