There was an accident in Tijarafe during the devil’s dance on Saturday night. There was a bigger crowd than usual, since it was a weekend. The devil tripped and fell over. The Christian victory at the battle of Lepanto in 1571 is attributed to her, soevery two years, Barlovento stages a re-enactment of the battle as part of the annual fiesta.
