Tiddles

Yesterday I went to see my friends in Franceses for lunch. On the way there I decided that if other people can give names to their cars, I can have a pet name for my laptop. So it’s called Tiddles. Because she’s aboutt he temperature and weight of a cat on my knees, and the vibrates slightly as though she’s purring. And yes, Tiddles came to Franceses, too. (So what…

A new toy

Yippee! I’ve spent some of my money from translation on a new mini-laptop. I’m not sure it’s big enough to be allowed out on its own at 25 x16x3 cm / 10″x6″x1″ It’s small enough to fit in a big handbag (a purse on the other side of the pond). Crazies.

Yesterday was my day for coming across craziness, and not the good sort. First up, this video from This Is True. (I love This is True) An American politician called Brent Rinehart is running for re-election with a comic book full of s**t stirring and spelling mistakes. (Does a County Commissioner have much to do with education in his district?) It also talks a lot about “The homosexual agenda”, without…

Bees and Butterflies

Burr marigold (Bidens alba) also known as Amor secalo with Colias crocea butterfly
May 2, 2007

A butterfly on amor-secalo (Bidens alba) Yesterday was a public holiday here, so I went to see my friends in Franceses Alone, since my husband and son didn’t want to come. It was drizzling when I left, but the sun was shining by the time I got there. We had the usual wide-ranging conversation about how their house was getting on, how my writing was getting on, and whether your…
