Sunday photos: thermophile forest

September 29, 2019

There isn’t much Canarian thermophile forest left, because most of it has been cleared for farmland centuries ago. I visited a patch in Breña Baja with friends and I couldn’t wait to come back with my good camera. On Friday there were birds singing, but it was very quiet tonight. I found myself looking closer and closer at little details. Then smaller details, like this prickly pear skeleton And then…

Sunday photos: raindrops

September 22, 2019

It rained last night, the first real rain we’ve had for months. I can almost hear the ground slurping and sighing with contentment. Happy Birthday Chai Latte

August 26, 2019

Chai Latte is a found cat who adopted us in October last year. Consequently we don’t know her exact birthday, but August 20th was the vet’s guess. Anyway, it’s close enough to celebrate, so I cooked her a salmon fillet, stuck a candle in it, and we sang Happy Birthday. We needed this cat. I start almost every morning with a snuggle and mutual admiration session, which improves my day…
