Sunday photos: Koskina

October 6, 2019

I’m in Greece, in a village called Koskina on the island of Euboea. It’s not a touristy zone and I’m not doing much tourism. I’m mostly holed up with a bunch of imaginary friends at The Crooked House working on my whodunnit Murder by Moonlight, and I’m loving it. It’s comfortable and peaceful and the surrounding countryside is lovely. I’m also loving being reunited with my suitcase. I planned it…

Sunday photos: thermophile forest

September 29, 2019

There isn’t much Canarian thermophile forest left, because most of it has been cleared for farmland centuries ago. I visited a patch in Breña Baja with friends and I couldn’t wait to come back with my good camera. On Friday there were birds singing, but it was very quiet tonight. Sunday photos: kittens

September 9, 2019

My friend is adopting two kittens, brother and sister,  from La Palama and somehow I got involved with making sure they have all their vaccines and so on. I don’t mind. I’m not doing much and they are extremely cute. Work continues on the guide book update. The summer rush of guiding work just finished, and now I should have more writing time. In other news, I washed one of…

Sunday photos

September 1, 2019

I went for a walk with my friend Petra. We both like going very slowly and taing lots and lots of photos. I think the moss heart on the old roof above was the favourite find for both of us. But we agreed that these fern roots peeking out from behind the stone do look rather like some strange animal with lots of legs. And at the risk of spoiling…
