Tall Ships in Santa Cruz for Christmas

This year the tall ships will be meeting in the port of Santa Cruz de la Palma for Christmas again. It looks as though there will be fewer ships than usual, because of the bad weather we’ve had lately. But there’ll be the usual flea market from 9:30 to 6 pm, the opportunity to visit some of the ships from 10:00 to 12:30, and live music from 10:30 to 6…

Los Cancajos market

La Palma has a new weekly market, this time at the popular tourist resort of Los Cancajos.  It’s open on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm, at the south end of the sea front, near the Las Olas hotel. (Palmeran rugs are made with a linen warp, and rag weft. If you order one, you generally…

Mazo Farmer’s Market

This week there’s a second-hand stall run by school kids, raising money for the end-of-school-year trip. My son’s favourite stall crushes sugar cane through a small mangle, and sells the juice. You can had a tumbler of cane juice, orange juice or mixed…
