Vox are the Spanish far right party. The We’re-not fascists-honest-we’re-not party. Something like the English Defence League or the National Front.* Among other things, they’re bitterly against immigration, or at least immigration to Spain – nothing wrong with Spanish people working abroad and what do you mean they can’t have it both ways? And now they’re calling for the health service to refuse to treat immigrants.
In the middle of an epidemic.
I expect this level of cruelty and dehamanisation from Vox, but yet again, I’m stunned by the utter idiocy. “Yes, you’re contagious. Now go away.”
An illegal immigrant is most unlikely to have savings. How are they going to get money for food? Oh right, they’ll go outside and try to work. They’ll breathe on people and spread the virus. Not because they’re evil; because they want to survive. In many cases that’s why they became an illegal immigrant in the first place.
The KKK are rumoured to be deliberately spreading COVID-19 in non-white neighbourhoods. Again, you exoect the KKK to be murderous, but what part of “highly contagious” don’t they understand? They really expect it to say in the ghetto and not reach Granny?
Maybe it’s the dehumanisation that makes far right parties so very, very stupid. Maybe if you don’t think of people as people, you forget that they want to eat, that they’ll probably act exactly the way you would, and that their viruses are your viruses.
*Far right parties have to keep changing their name to lose the bad publicity, even though they hang onto the same, failed philosophy. Something like renaming Windscale as Sellafield, hoping that people will forget the 1957 fire.
