I first “met” Hank about 20 years ago at the critters workshop, and we joined a splinter group of 10 for faster turnaround of critiques. Over the years his satirical fantasy stories has given me more giggles and belly laughs than I can count. Lately he’s also been writing nonfiction for writers. I just want to confirm that he does actually know what he’s writing about (not like some!)

My newest project.

I belong to two local writing groups and several more groups such as you can find on Facebook and LinkedIn. I’ve fond that most writers seeking help fall into one of three categories. The first is writers trying to learn or improve the craft of writing fiction. The second is authors seeking to self-publish a book for the first time and the third is authors trying to market their book.

I’ve been writing fiction for over twenty years and I’ve self-published more than twenty-five books and I’ve marketed those books. My point is that I have the expertise and experience to help the three types mentioned above. The question has always been: How can I do that?

After thinking about it for quite a while, I finally found a solution. I started the Writers & Authors Resource Center often abbreviated as WritersARC. The site is a place where writers and authors can come to find answers and advice. It has articles, checklists, questionnaires, ebooks, book samples, on-line courses, webinars and much more.

The first webinar is called Writing a Story: how to grab and hold a reader’s attention. It will be held on November 21 at 2:00 PM NYC time. You can register here. The webinar will be recorded and will be available afterward.

Planned webinars include: Book Marketing for Beginners in January and Self-publishing Basics in February. More webinars will follow in the succeeding months.

Current on-line courses are:

• Mind-mapping a Novel

• Fiction Writing Topics

• Self-publishing Starter Kit

Planned future courses include Story Design, Story-telling Techniques and Book Marketing Fundamentals

While there is a lot of material on the site currently, I plan to add much more by the end of the year. I’m also looking into the possibility of recording podcasts. Maybe someday, in the near future, you’ll be able to lull yourself to sleep by listening to my monotone voice.

The Writers ARC is a members only site (to reduce the threat of trolls), but membership is free.
