I did most of the language school exams for German before I went to Menorca. I flew back on Saturday, and on Monday I walked into my German class and asked, “When’s the oral exam, then?”
And the teacher said, “Now.”
Oh God! But at least I didn’t have time to get nervous. I later found that I’d passed all the language school internal exams. Unfortunately they weren’t so important this year. I’m good enough o ogo on to next year, but there isn’t a German B2 course. What matters this year is the external certification exams.
That was yesterday morning: writing, listening and reading for three and a half hours (with short breaks). I’m pretty certain I did better on the writing exam than the one for the language school. This listening exam was really stressful, but then I always find it really stressful and I’ve always passed so far. (Touch wood!) Reading is usually my best result, but I’d hardly started when I got a violent headache. I don’t know if this was stress, or being hunched over for three hours or what, but I had to stop for a while. I think I did fairly well anyway.
And the oral exam will be on Monday.
