We’ve had unusually wet weather for the last ten days. There’s nothing odd about the odd winter storm, although I swear they’re windier than they used to be. What is unusual is having three of them in ten days.

So I’m sorry if you’re having a soggy holiday. The rain tends to blow in and out pretty quickly, so I suggest that you at least enjoy the rainbows.

  1. I hope those storms aren’t becoming the norm over La Palma. I recall a horrendous one last February that ripped tiles off roofs, flattened trees, wrecked most of the poolside furniture and blew glass doors off our hotel, smashing them to smithereens. And that was only the tail end of it, the brunt of it caused havoc on Madeira.
You tell it to settle down before we arrive again next February!
