Sunday Photos: Barlovento

Bee

I didn’t get all that much writing done this week because I snuck off to Barlovento for a couple of nights. My friend Petra had a cottage at Las Cabezadas for a week and invited me to join her for a while.

Probably my favourite bit was the ducklings at Barlovento reservoir. As you can see, they were utterly adorable. But as ususal I took photos of everything, particularly insects on flowers.

I’ve also been busy sorting out that balcony, and yes, I got as far as the ceremonial cup of tea while admiring the view. We do need a parasol for sunny mornings though, or it’s dazzling. My husband dug out the parasol from the depths of the garage and we agreed that it was too far gone to fix. So, new one needed this week.

I was asked to quote on a translation job. Since it was a website, that meant going to every sub-page, all 90 of them, and finding out how many words it contained. It took hours, but if I get the job it’ll be a useful first step out of the way.

With all that, writing has rather taken a back seat. I got another query off to an agent this week, but I also got a rejection back. And I’m still having serious trouble with the baddies for Pinch Me although I have some idea how to solve it.

So, onward and sideways as usual!
