The Tall Ships are back! They used to hold an annual meet-up in Santa Cruz de la Palma for Christmas, but last year’s was cancelled. Luckily, they’re back. The ships will arrive on December 24th and leave on the 26th.
As usual, there’ll be a market in the port area from 9 am to 6pm, which gives you a chance for last-minute present shopping (or good-and-early shopping for January 6th, when the Spanish exchange presents) and a chance to look around the ships from 10 am – 1 pm and 4:30 pm – 6 pm.
This year the live music will be performed by ANGELIKA PROFETA on the harp from 10 am – 10:45am and 1:00 – 1:45pm, and MANU & ELIAS(modern music) from 11am-1pm. Kids can have a go at nautical knots on one of the ships from 11am-noon, and the crews of the ships will compete in a rowing competition at 4 pm. Plus there’s an exhibition of classic cars. Logically that must be on the quayside (can you imagine loading them onto the ships? ‘Nuff said.)
