Zombie a-pause-calypse day 10,835: getting ready to leave the house

It’s looking likely that we’ll be allowed out for exercise from May 2nd, so I’ve been getting the masks ready. The monkey is called Einstein (because he looks so clever) and he came to live with me on my 18th birthday. The sloth is Enric, who came back from Menorca with me last year – that’s why he has a Menorqui name. The masks are actually made from a pair of sock that already had the words on.

In other news, I’ve finished the first draft of the translation of “Una espectacular ventana al universo”. Most of it still needs correcting by a native speaker, and then there’s still layout and proof correcting and printing to go, but definitely a milestone achieved. From here on, the bulk of the effort will be by other people so I can move on to other projects.

The bad news is that I’ve got backache, probably from sitting too long with bad posture. I hope it won’t last!

The fairy was a birthday present. I have an idea that in fairy land the mushrooms can sing, so she’s enjoying the concert. And being very careful not to introduce the virus to fairyland.

Sheila came to La Palma with a six month contract and has stayed 24 years so far. She used to work as a software engineer at the observatory, but now she's a writer and Starlight guide.
