Zombie A-pause-calypse day 22

Three weeks in and we seem to be hitting the top of the curve. We’ve only had one new case on the island in the last three days in spite of over a hundred tests. Sadly, there’s been another death, making 4 in all. The government’s extended the state of emergency until the 26th of April. So I’m thinking we might be allowed out, contigent on good behaviour, in anther 3 weeks.

On a more personal note, I’ve finished a translation job and I’ve been doing at least a little every day on the Spanish 3rd edition of A Breathtaking Window on the Universe (Una espectacular ventana al universo) and I’ve been writing short stories. I entered two drabbles* in a competition but they both got rejected almost immediately. I’ve written and sent off a short story to The People’s Friend magazine and I’m working on an SF flash piece for another competition. That’s proving tricky. Since it’s SF there’s background stuff to explain and I can spare very few words on the job. I’m having fun, through.

It could all be very much worse.
