Zombie A-pause-calypse day 35 (I think)

A spider and its unfortunate lunch

The lockdown drags on, and I keep translating. I’m on the last of the current telescopes, so fairly good progress. Fiction doesn’t seem to be happening much the last few days although I have sent one short story off to someone who might buy it. It’s a bit of a long shot, but nothing’s going to sell sitting on my hard drive, is it?

Actually the lockdown’s been extended for another 2 weeks. Yes, there’s some loosening up, but for kids not for me. I wouldn’t say I’m thrilled, but yes, kids probably need it more and it’s almost certainly necessary. I’m luckier than most here. I’ve reached the stage of reminding myself of that several times a day.

My parents survived a world war. I’m just staying home very nearly 24/7. I’m warm, fed and mostly entertained. I can do this. I can0t go and take photos on walks, but I get to photograph stuf fon the balcony.

Sheila came to La Palma with a six month contract and has stayed 24 years so far. She used to work as a software engineer at the observatory, but now she's a writer and Starlight guide.
