Squee Sunday: Baby gecko

For once, I took the photos myself.

We’ve had a gecko living in our sitting room for a month or so. S/he is mostly invisible, hiding behind pictures or furniture, but coming our in the late evening. Inevitably s/he leaves a little – um – manure on the walls, but we don’t mind because a) it’s easily cleaned, b) s/he is seriously cute and c) s/he mostly seems to eat mosquitoes. Yay for ecological pest control!

My son left a large, empty glass on his desk overnight, and in the morning found the gecko had somehow fallen in and couldn’t climb out. I couldn’t resist taking photos before letting him/her go. Unfortunately I had the wrong setting for the white balance, and this is the best correction I can manage with GIMP. S/he is a much prettier colour, honestly.
