Sunday Photos: Garafía

I’ve just spent a lovely week in Garafía with my friend Petra. The plan was for her to walk a lot and for me to walk a bit and write a lot, and that’s pretty much what we did.

After 30 years on La Palma, I still occasionally discover new places, and this holiday was no exception. The photo above is the Fagundo ravine, from the viewpoint at Las Calzadas.

I’ve loved the dragon trees at Burracas for a while, but I never new there was a similar valley just east of Santo Domingo – only the path is just as steep and even rougher.

When not walking I made major progress on the whodunnit. The two cardboard characters are much, much better now, and I’ve added a rather nice red herring.

And I managed some macro photos that I’m plesaed with, too.

Sheila came to La Palma with a six month contract and has stayed 24 years so far. She used to work as a software engineer at the observatory, but now she's a writer and Starlight guide.
